The pick up day for members at DU is changing to Tuesday next week 8/20.
There are several other Wednesday afternoon pick up locations in Denver, so if changing to Tuesday will not work for you, please let us know and other arrangements will be made.
Storm Recovery
After a couple days passed and clean-up was well under way it was easier to assess the damage from last week’s hailstorm.  Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and basil were hit hardest.  There is hope for some tomatoes to pull through, and you may see some damaged eggplant in upcoming shares.  While their foliage has been badly damaged, the root crops will survive.  Beets and carrots will be topped for a few weeks.  Fall planting has started, so more radishes and salad greens are coming in about a month.  Since we have several sweet corn patches spread over a few miles area, only the corn here on our farm got much hail, so good news for the sweet corn which you will continue to see over the next few weeks.  Pumpkins, squash, melons and cucumbers got hit pretty hard but we are hopeful to harvest something out of the patch.
A very heartfelt THANK YOU for everyone’s support and understanding.  Many members have sent words of encouragement and your loyalty and commitment to the season is a reminder of the important partnership we all share which makes it possible for our small farm to operate and to provide healthy, local produce for our community.
