Spotlight: Japanese Turnips
We first tried Japanese Turnips at a farmer’s market in Bellvue CO, and were instantly hooked.  Not your typical turnip, Japanese (salad) Turnips are mild, tender and sweet, even when eaten raw.  The golf ball-sized roots are smooth and creamy white, making them a beautiful addition to a salad.  A great snack, they do not even require peeling; simply wash and enjoy.  They are grown only in late summer and fall on our farm, so availability is limited.  Give them a try –  these little guys are sure to impress!
