May 31 Weekly Update

Leffler Family Farms’ Weekly Update May 31st
———————————————————–
 Local Motion CSA News…
Reminders:
– Regular Season starts next week.
University of Denver, Basil Doc’s, Golden and Evergreen member’s first day of pick up is Wednesday June 5th.
Sew Downtown, High Plains Environmental Learning Center, Pateros Creek Brewery and On Farm first day of pick up is Thursday June 6.
Please refer to the pick up protocol information you have received (via email or mail or both) to review procedure for the first day.  If you have not yet received pick up protocol information, please let us know and we will get it to you right away!
– The contents of next week’s shares is still being finalized, but we do know they will (at least partially) consist of an assortment of baby greens like lettuce, spinach, chard and mesclun mix, baby/bunching onions and radishes.  As you can see from the below pictures, things are still small in the field.  However, we are watching plants double in size in just 2 or 3 days, so things are growing fast!  Fast growth is expected this time of year.  Now we just need to outsmart the bugs and hope the hail stays away!
– Egg shares will be 1/2 dozens next week.
