January 22 Farm Update

LOCAL MOTION CSA
A division of Leffler Family Farms

Invites you to own a piece of our farm by becoming a member of our Community Supported Agriculture share program.

Each week you will receive a bountiful share of locally grown produce delivered to convenient locations in Greeley, Fort Collins (@Pateros Brewery in Old Town), Denver, as well as on the farm in Eaton.

We are currently looking into including a few other communities for pickup locations.  Cheyenne, Loveland, Windsor, Evergreen, and Boulder are a few locations we are considering serving.  Please contact Julie Felt if you live in one of these communities and would like to join.  We will be able to to include these areas if we can get enough members together from each location so please let us know soon if you are interested.  Also, please let us know if your community, neighborhood, organization, or place of employment would like more info on group CSA rates.

For more information please contact:

The time to sign up is now.  Memberships are limited and we are beginning to receive many inquiries after the recent loss of two Northern Colorado CSA programs.  Secure your membership while shares are still available!

Ft. Collins Winter Farmer’s Market
Last Saturday, LFF was at the Be Local Winter Farmer’s Market in Old Town Ft. Collins at the Opera Galleria.  This was the first time we attended as vendors, and we really enjoyed being there.  Rainbow baby beets, golden beets and a few varieties of our heirloom dry beans (Gourmet Mix, Calypso, Jacob’s Cattle, Pintos) were available.  We will continue to attend with beets and dry beans and will also have some of our hand selected heirloom seeds to choose from.  The market runs Saturday from 10-2.  Come see what you can find *:) happy

Seed Swap
Also this Saturday (1/26), we will be participating in the annual seed swap at Denver Urban Homesteading from 1-4.  A fun way to find new and interesting seeds and meet other gardeners – everyone is welcome!

Laying Hen Update:  There are 40 happy laying hens and 3 bossy ducks that reside on our farm.  Mixed in the flock are over a dozen types of different breeds that lay an assortment of colored eggs.  We unfortunately will not have an egg share this year in our CSA.  Lack of consistency last year made it difficult to succeed in getting everyone their eggs every week.  Instead, this year we will be selling our eggs on the farm and at market.  Thanks again for all the patience.
